Hi, I'm Solara.

I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember.

I studied photography throughout high school, completing a Certificate III in Digital Media (Photography), and have spent over 14 years behind the lens — photography has always been something I'm drawn to, and used as a creative outlet.

While I didn’t pursue photography as a career straight away, I followed another passion that also centres around people: the beauty industry and skin health. In October 2025, I opened The Black Rabbit skin clinic, a space built on trust, individuality, and human connection.

When it came time to create brand imagery, I knew exactly what I didn’t want — stiff corporate headshots, forced smiles, or imagery that felt cold and transactional. I wanted photos that felt welcoming, authentic, and that told a story. When I couldn’t find a business photographer that aligned with that vision, I decided to create it myself.

Shortly after, while collaborating with my friend Siarn (a local tattoo artist) on a cross-promotion between our businesses, she mentioned she had very few photos of herself tattooing. I offered to photograph her at work — and something clicked. Seeing someone in their element, focused, expressive, and completely themselves reignited my love for photography.

Heart and  Sol Photography exists to capture that feeling.

This work is about people who love what they do — small business owners, creatives, makers, and practitioners — and helping them be seen in a way that feels honest, warm, and deeply human. No corporate masks. No soulless branding. Just real people, doing meaningful work.
